Hyderabad: An employee of MG Group of Companies allegedly stole cash of Rs.90 lakh, belonging to the company and went absconding in Banjara Hills.
The suspect Vinod Kumar has been working as the Administration Assistant in the Chennai based company’s branch in Punjagutta for the last three months.
Police said, on November 23, the company’s General Manager B Srinivas Rao had called Associate Manager T Srinivas Rao on the phone and asked him to deposit Rs.90 lakh cash in the company’s bank account.
Following this, T Srinivas Rao met Vinod Kumar near Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital at Banjara Hills Road No.10, and handed over the cash in a bag to deposit it in the bank.
However, Vinod Kumar did not return to work since then and the cash too was not deposited in the company’s bank account. The company’s authorities searched for him in all possible places and made enquiries, but in vain. His mobile phone too was switched off.
Based on a complaint from B Srinivas Rao on Wednesday, the Banjara Hills police booked a case and took up investigation.
A special team was found to trace the suspect and nab him at the earliest. The footage from the surveillance cameras are being checked.
