Hyderabad: Excise dept Task Force seizes liquor worth Rs. 22 lakh smuggled from Goa

Based on a tip-off, the STF personnel conducted checks in the Air-Conditioned coaches of Vasco-da-Gama – Secunderabad train coming from Goa to Hyderabad on Sunday.

Hyderabad: The Excise Department’s State Task Force (STF) seized 82 liquor bottles of various brands, altogether worth Rs 22 lakh, which were being illegally smuggled from Goa to Hyderabad by train on Sunday. Two persons were detained for questioning.

Based on a tip-off, the STF personnel conducted checks in the Air-Conditioned coaches of Vasco-da-Gama – Secunderabad train coming from Goa to Hyderabad on Sunday.

The STF teams which boarded the train at Shadnagar on the city outskirts carried out searches till Secunderabad. A total of 82 liquor bottles were seized in these checks, which are estimated to be worth Rs 22 lakh.
