Hyderabad: Excise officials seize 233 bottles of smuggled liquor, two held
Acting on a tip-off, the team monitored Basheerbagh Road and stopped a suspiciously moving car for inspection. Upon checking, officials discovered 233 bottles of non-duty paid liquor smuggled into the city from Delhi and Haryana.
Hyderabad: The Excise and Prohibition Department’s Enforcement team on Friday caught two persons at Basheerbagh for allegedly smuggling non duty paid liquor and seized 233 bottles from them.
On a tip off, the team kept a watch at Basheerbagh road and on noticing a car moving suspiciously stopped and checked it. The officials found 233 bottles of non duty paid liquor smuggled into the city from Delhi and Haryana.
Two people Harish Kumar and Williams Joseph were taken into custody while four of their associates who are involved in the racket are absconding.
A case is registered.
