Hyderabad is experiencing sultry weather as high morning humidity gives way to sharp afternoon declines amid temperatures of 32-33°C. The IMD expects similar conditions through August 27, with partly cloudy skies and chances of light rain and thundershowers.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad is facing an unusually sultry mid-monsoon phase, caught in a unique weather pattern, which is a mix of heavy morning moisture and dry spells during afternoons.
While late August typically features continuous rainfall in Telangana, weather data from India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has highlighted the difference between early-morning heavy humidity with intense afternoon surface heating, making days feel noticeably heavier than usual.
According to the IMD local weather bulletin, morning relative humidity levels recorded across Hyderabad have remained persistently high, hovering between 70 percent and 80 percent all through the week.
However, when afternoon heating happens, the moisture readings experience a sharp downward swing. The relative humidity levels captured during evenings at around 5.30 pm indicated a drop in humidity levels to 30 percent to 39 percent.
The sudden shift, paired with daytime maximum temperatures ranging between 32 degrees Celsius and and 33 degrees Celsius and night time temperatures hovering between 23 degree Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius is creating a sticky and suffocating weather situation in Hyderabad.
The 7-day extended outlook till August 27, indicates prevalence of similar conditions, IMD, Hyderabad forecast indicated.
Skies across the city will remain partly to generally cloudy, bringing intermittent forecasts for light rain, thundershowers, or occasional dust storms.
