Hyderabad: Fake notes deposited at ATM in SR Nagar

The bank employees, who went to the ATM, discovered fake currency notes, all of 500 denominations, when collecting cash from the cash deposit machine

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons had deposited fake Indian currency valued at Rs 5,000 in a deposit machine of a reputed private bank ATM at SR Nagar, Ameerpet.

As per available information, recently, the bank employees – Shravan Kumar and Sai Kumar Goud, who went to the ATM had discovered fake currency notes, all of 500 denominations, when collecting cash from the cash deposit machine.


They further informed the bank authorities and the police, who checked the CCTV footage from the ATM centre and found that an unidentified person posing as a customer had come and deposited the fake currency in the machine.

Based on a complaint from the bank manager, the SR Nagar police booked a case and are investigating.
