Family of four from Hyderabad killed in US car crash
Victims, travelling from Atlanta to Dallas, charred to death when their car was reportedly hit head-on by a mini-truck in Greene County

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a family of four people, all from the city, were burnt to death reportedly in a car crash which occurred at Greene County of the United States of America on July 6.
As per available information, the victims identified as Sri Venkat, his wife Tejaswini, and their children were on a vacation, travelling from Atlanta to Dallas, when their car was reportedly hit head-on by a mini-truck that was being driven in a wrong-side in Greene County, leading to fire.
Due to the impact and raging fire, all four passengers were trapped inside the vehicle and charred to death, even before any help could reach them. Their bodies burnt beyond recognition. The intensity of the blaze left the car completely gutted, prompting the US authorities to initiate DNA testing to establish their identities.
It is learnt that the victims’ family members in Kompally of Petbasheerabad had left to the US to complete formalities and collect the bodies and return to India.
Meanwhile, officials from the Indian Consulate are coordinating with US authorities to expedite the process, while the cause of the accident in under investigation.
