Hyderabad: FDDI hosts exhibition on India’s footwear heritage

Hyderabad: The three-day national seminar and exhibition ‘Tales Below the Heels’ on footwear heritage of India was launched at the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) campus here on Friday. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the seminar and exhibition. The event is being organised in joint collaboration by Pleach India Foundation and FDDI Hyderabad.
Senior representatives from Pleach India Foundation and FDDI Hyderabad also addressed the gathering, underlining how footwear, ranging from sacred padukas to regional juttis and Kolhapuris embodies regional artistry, identity and ritual value, and continues to influence global design conversations.
People can visit the FDDI Hyderabad campus till November 30 and be part of the unique celebration of India’s footwear heritage, a press release said.
