Hyderabad: A 28-year-old man Pavan Kalyan died by suicide at his house in Chilkalguda after his sister reportedly eloped with some person four days ago.
According to the police, Kalyan was staying with his family in Chilkalguda for the last few years. On January 22, Kalyan’s sister went missing and on enquiry, the family came to know that she had left the house and gone along with a person with whom she was in a relationship.
Following the incident, due to social stigma, the family members left their house and went to their relative’s house in Rajendranagar.
“On Tuesday night, Kalyan came to his house and hanged himself to the ceiling fan. The neighbours who noticed him alerted us,” said Chilkalguda police.
The police reached the spot and shifted the body to the mortuary for postmortem examination. A case has been registered by the police and investigation is going on.
The family members told the police that Kalyan slipped into depression following the incident and might have ended his life.
