Hyderabad: The door-to-door fever survey initiated by the State government to check Covid infections, continued for the second day in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits on Saturday.

While officials from the GHMC and Department of Health, Medical & Family Welfare monitored the survey, teams comprising Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), went around residential areas and collected details of individuals with Covid-19 symptoms.

Stopping at every household, the personnel drafted for the exercise, enquired if any member of the family had symptoms such as fever, cold and cough. Apart from collecting details, they handed over the home isolation kits where needed. The families were also guided about precautionary measures that need to be followed while using the medicines in the kits.

At several places, the fever survey was clubbed with vaccination. “Our teams also guided people to the nearest Basti Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) for treatment,” said a GHMC official.

The civic body staffers also sought to create awareness about the Covid Control Room setup in the GHMC head office. “We have asked people to contact the GHMC landline number 040-21111111 for reliable information and get their queries answered. In several instances we came across residents with worries about Covid and were cleared their doubts during the fever survey,” said an official from the civic body.
