Hyderabad: Filmnagar police constable dies by suicide at home in Uppal

A 42-year-old constable from Filmnagar police station, K Srikanth, died by suicide at his home in Uppal. Family members said he faced financial issues. He had not reported to duty since October 23. Police are investigating the case

Hyderabad: A police constable, working at Filmnagar police station in the city, died by suicide at his house in Uppal on Saturday.

The policeman, K Srikanth (42), worked at Filmnagar police station and is a resident of Mallikarjuna Nagar in Uppal. On Saturday, he hanged himself at his house.

The family members of the constable told the police that Srikanth was facing some financial problems and might have ended his life over it. However, the police are probing the case from all angles.

It is learnt that Srikanth was not been attending duties since October 23. The body of Srikanth was shifted to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
