Hyderabad: A major fire broke in a residential multi-storey apartment reportedly following the explosion of air-conditioner compressors near Maitrivanam in Madhuranagar on Friday. No casualties were reported.

As per available information, fire broke out in the house on the second floor of the five-floor building, leading to a series of multiple air-conditioner compressors exploding. Due to this, huge fire, thick smoke engulfed the entire area triggering panic.


On being alerted, the local police and firefighters rushed to the spot and with the help of two fire engines, doused the fire and extinguished the smoke completely. They took preventive measures to contain the fire from spreading to other upper floors in the apartment and the adjacent buildings.

The estimation of the damaged property was yet to be known.
