Hyderabad: Property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted down when fire broke out at a motor accessories godown at Siddiamber Bazaar on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the officials, the fire started around 1 pm at the Rajdhani motor parts store located and the local police rushed to the spot and informed the fire control room. The firetenders from the Gowliguda fire station rushed to the spot and started efforts to douse the flames.

“The godown is located on the second floor of the building. We faced tough time in reaching the spot where the fire actually started as there is only one staircase. However with the help of a snorkel we reached the second floor height from the road and dumped huge water,” said M Srinivas Reddy, District Fire Officer.

A total of six firetenders from different fire stations battled the blaze for around three hours before dousing it. The fire officials are trying to ascertain the reason.
