Hyderabad: Five arrested for cheating man to the tune of Rs 1.5 crore

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Central Crime Station police arrested five persons on charges of cheating a person of Rs 1.5 crore by fraudulently using his online payment gateway.

The arrested persons were Gobind Chandra Jena (27), Bimal Prasad Samanta Ray (26), Balabadra Dash (26), Dinesh Mohanty (24) and Manoj Kumar Raut (36), all from Bhubaneswar in Odisha. Police said the gang identified the technical glitch in the online payment gateway of a startup in Banjara Hills and fraudulently carried out transactions using the payment gateway.

The amounts were transferred to the accounts of Balabadra Dash, Dinesh Mohanty, and Bimal Prasad. Manoj Kumar Raut handled the accounts, police said.
