Hyderabad: Five-year-old boy drowns in water-filled pit at construction site in Santoshnagar, dies

The boy, S Jaishivam, lived along with his parents. The father of the boy worked as a watchman at the site and the family who are from Amangal in Ranga Reddy district stay at the construction site in a small hut.

Hyderabad: A five year-old died of drowning after falling in a pit at an under construction at Santoshnagar on Saturday afternoon.

The boy, S Jaishivam, lived along with his parents. The father of the boy worked as a watchman at the site and the family who are from Amangal in Ranga Reddy district stay at the construction site in a small hut.


The contractor had dug up pits for laying the pillars at the site.

“A few pits were filled with water. The boy fell in one of the pits and got drowned. Locals who noticed the boy in the water immediately pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead,” said I S Sadan Inspector, G Nagaraju.

A case is registered.
