Hyderabad: Adding one more facility to address traffic issues in the old city, the three-lane uni-directional flyover built at Owaisi Junction was inaugurated here on Tuesday.

The 1.36 km long and 12 m wide flyover is built with an estimated cost of Rs 63 crore under the State government’s Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister KT Rama Rao, Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (MRDCL) Chairman Sudheer Reddy, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi and other elected representatives participated in the inaugural function.

Traffic congestions at the two busy spots of Chandrayangutta i.e. Owaisi Hospital Junction and Midhani Junction will be reduced due to this flyover, said Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials.

The flyover facilitates traffic coming from Midhani Junction and going towards Owaisi Hospital Junction.
