According to reports, she tried to hang herself from a ceiling fan at her residence. Family members reportedly broke open the room door, rescued her and shifted her to a private hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

Madhuri has alleged that folk dancer Eshwar Sai deceived her after promising to marry her. She reportedly claimed that despite lodging a complaint against him, no action was taken.

Madhuri is said to have been under severe mental distress over the issue, following which she allegedly attempted suicide.
