The arrested are M Jyothi (49), P Sunil Singh (43), G Ramesh (43) and L Nithin Kumar (23), all residents of Chatrinaka.

According to the police, the gang contacted people who were staying in rented houses and assured to arrange double bedroom houses that are provided to BPL families by the government. The gang collected Aadhaar card, family group photo and took an amount between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 from the people assuring to get flats sanctioned to them at the earliest.
