Hyderabad: The Bhavani Nagar Police on Friday arrested four men, including a receiver, in the Rs 40 lakh robbery case reported at Talabkatta on November 30.

The police recovered cash of Rs 34.6 lakh along with mobile phones, two-wheelers and a knife used in the offence.

Police said the key suspect, Mohd Zahid, a friend of the victim, Mohd Sultan had tipped off his associates after learning that the complainant had kept a large cash amount for a house purchase.

As per the plan, Syed Irfan and Mudassir Alahi allegedly entered the victim’s house at dawn, assaulted him, tied his hands and fled with the money, phone and his scooter.

During the probe, CCTV footage and a UPI payment trail from a petrol bunk helped identify the suspects. The stolen amount was found to have been split among the four.

Syed Irfan was found to be a repeat offender with previous cases at Bhavani Nagar Police Station.
All four suspects were remanded in judicial custody.
