Hyderabad: Free cervical cancer vaccination for woman at Apollo Cancer Centres throughout February

Hyderabad: In a unique initiative at spreading awareness and preventing cervical cancer, Apollo Cancer Centres and CURE Foundation launched a free Cervical Cancer Vaccination Program on Monday. The free vaccination program, which was officially launched by actor Meenakshi Choudary, on the eve of World Cancer Day, which is observed on Tuesday, February 4, will be conducted all through the month of February.
The vaccine will be administered free of cost to women between 9 am and 6 pm, at Apollo Cancer Centres, Jubilee Hills. Additionally, the hospital has extended its support to young girls in orphanages across Hyderabad, ensuring they receive the vaccine at no cost.
“We are taking the responsibility to initiate this program in twin cities for underprivileged girls in orphanages and create awareness. On Monday, we vaccinated 150 orphan girls. We will keep the program open till the February end to vaccinate more,” Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy, Director, Apollo Cancer Centres, on the occasion said.
Dr Padmaja Lokireddy, senior Haemato Oncologist and Bone Marrow Transplant, Dr Rajeev Reddy, Orthopaedic Oncosurgeon and Sarcoma Specialist and other senior Oncologists were present.
