Hyderabad: The city-based SLG Hospitals organised a ‘Fun Yoga’ session for children to mark the occasion of the Children’s Day. The special event, which was conducted certified Ashtanga Yoga instructor Anubhuti Dikshit, attracted participation from nearly 200 children and their parents, a press release said.
The Yoga session was followed by health talk to spread awareness on childhood obesity and understanding diabetes. Senior physicians including Dr Aarathi Bellary, Dr M Arvind Kumar, Dr Pavan Kumar, and Dr Prayaga Jyothsna addressed children in the need to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
As part of the event, children were taught simple techniques such as warm-up, body stretches, mental relaxation, along with Surya Namaskar and Pranayama.
“Yoga goes a long way in equipping children with the right attitude. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind. That’s why we organised a yoga session for children,” CMD, SLG Hospitals, Dandu Siva Rama Raju, said.
