Hyderabad Ganesh idols immersion: Over 2.32 lakh Ganesh idols immersed in six GHMC zones
Over 2.32 lakh Ganesh idols were immersed in Hyderabad by 5.30 pm on Saturday, GHMC said. Kukatpally recorded the highest with 58,847 idols, followed by Khairatabad, Serilingampally, LB Nagar, Charminar, and Secunderabad zones
Hyderabad: As the Ganesh idol immersion picked pace late on Saturday afternoon, over 2.32 lakh idols were immersed in artificial ponds, water bodies, and Hussain Sagar by 5.30 pm.
According to the GHMC, Kukatpally recorded the highest number of immersions among the six GHMC zones, with 58,847 idols. The other zones recorded 34,287 idols in LB Nagar, 18,791 in Charminar, 50,203 in Khairatabad, 38,136 in Serilingampally, and 32,256 in Secunderabad.
Over 50 drones hover over immersion procession
Over 50 drones hovered over the Ganesh idol immersion main procession and captured live footage including that of the Khairatabad Ganesh and other idols at Hussain Sagar. Live streaming of the Ganesh idol immersion was also provided by them.
From ‘Dappu’ to ‘Dhol Tasha’, the procession route reverberated with music and many devotees joined in to dance along the procession. At some places, police personnel spontaneously took part in dancing with devotees.
