Hyderabad: The Bhoomi Puja ceremony of the Jeeyar Swami Dhyan Foundation Gaushala (cow shelter) was held at Shamshabad on Sunday. Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, a follower of Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami, conducted the ceremony.
Located in a two-acre leased land near Chinna Swami Ashram at Muchintal near Shamshabad, this gaushala is expected to be ready in the next three months and is expected to house 1,000 rescued cows.
Highlighting the importance of having more cow shelters, he said, “The city needs more cow shelters in addition to the existing shelters that house about 40,000 cows.”
Dhyan Foundation is currently serving over 70,000 cows in over 48 gaushalas across the country.
