Hyderabad gets its first Sushi Pop, making sushi easier to eat on the go

Gachibowli-based Saito Sushi has introduced Hyderabad’s first Sushi Pop, a portable, push-pop-style sushi roll designed for easy, mess-free consumption. The innovative concept aims to make sushi more accessible and convenient for students, office-goers and first-time diners.

Hyderabad: Sushi lovers in Hyderabad can now leave their chopsticks behind. Gachibowli-based Saito Sushi has introduced the city’s first Sushi Pop, a grab-and-go version of the Japanese favourite that combines convenience with a playful twist.

Inspired by the push-pop candies many grew up eating, the Sushi Pop comes packaged in a tube containing a neatly arranged pre-cut sushi roll. Instead of picking up individual pieces with chopsticks, diners can simply push the sushi upwards one bite at a time, making it easy to enjoy sushi while travelling, working or studying.

The concept has already caught the attention of sushi enthusiasts looking for a more portable option.

“I love sushi but it isn’t always easy to eat when you’re rushing between classes or carrying things around. This is much more convenient and something I could easily grab during a break at college,” says Ananya Reddy, a student.

The concept is designed to make sushi more portable and less intimidating for first-time eaters. There are no chopsticks involved and very little mess. Customers simply remove the covers, pour in the soy sauce and wasabi, insert the sauce tube into the base and gently push the sushi upwards as they eat. The container can also be resealed, making it convenient for those who want to save a few bites for later.

“For office-goers, this makes a lot of sense. Sushi is one of my favourite meals but I usually need a proper table setup to enjoy it. With this, I can eat it at my desk without worrying about chopsticks or making a mess,” says Rahul Mehta, a software engineer.

Saito Sushi currently offers seven varieties of Sushi Pops, including Creamy Sushi Push Pop, Veggie Crunch Sushi Push Pop, Rainbow Sushi Push Pop and Crunch Chicken Sushi Push Pop, among others. Prices start at Rs 699 per Sushi Pop.
