Hyderabad: GHMC outsourcing employee attempts self immolation

The man, Ramesh Yadav, was working as a sanitary field assistant in Circle IV of the GHMC. He alleged that his higher officials failed to pay his salary for the last 10 months despite repeated requests.

Hyderabad: A GHMC outsourcing employee along with his family tried to immolate themselves at the GHMC head office at Tank Bund on Saturday, allegedly due to a delay in payment of his salary.

The man, Ramesh Yadav, was working as a sanitary field assistant in Circle IV of the GHMC. He alleged that his higher officials failed to pay his salary for the last 10 months despite repeated requests.


On Saturday afternoon, he came to the GHMC office along with his family and tried to douse himself with fuel he brought in a bottle and shouted against the officials. On noticing his action, security personnel immediately prevented him and snatched the bottle from his hand.

The police too have reached the spot.
