Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday emphasised the Indian civilisation’s focus on the rediscovery of knowledge, quoting Sri Krishna: “Knowledge is everywhere.”
Launching a three-day international conference on ‘Reinventing Disciplinarity through Indian Philosophical Ethos’, organised by the Department of English Literature, English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), here, Varma urged the presenters to set lofty benchmarks for knowledge, referencing the prayer for universal well-being, ‘Sarvejana Sukhinobhavanthu’.

EFLU Vice-Chancellor in-charge Prof. Haribandi Lakshmi applauded the department’s initiative and efforts in organising the conference.
TGCHE Chairman, Prof. V Balakista Reddy, provided insights into the NEP 2020 and the impact of Covid-19 on the education system. Keynote speaker Prof. Jeffrey Armstrong emphasised the importance of traditional wisdom, and how the ancient teachings of Indian philosophy can offer profound insights and guidance for contemporary issues.
