Hyderabad gunman working for Hydraa Commissioner shots self with service pistol over financial distress

Hyderabad: A gunman working for HYDRAA Commissioner, AV Ranganath attempted suicide by shooting himself with his service pistol at his house in Hayathnagar in early hours of Sunday reportedly due to financial issues.
According to the police, M Krishna Chaitanya, a 2020 batch constable of City Armed Reserve (CAR) Hyderabad police is attached to the City Security Wing, Hyderabad and posted as personal security officer of the HYDRAA Commissioner.
On Sunday morning, the policeman while at his house in Hayathnagar took his service weapon and shot himself in the head. The family members who heard the sound of gun fire rushed into the room and found Chaitanya lying in a pool of blood on the bed, and the weapon lying on the bed.
The Hayathnagar police said Chaitanya slipped into depression due to financial problems after having lost a huge amount of money in betting and gaming apps and might have attempted to end his life. Three months ago, due to depression he had left his house but later returned. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Krishna Chaitanya was taken to Kamineni Hospital and the hospital said he was brought in a comatosed condition and CT scan of brain showed extensive fractures of the skull and to the brain.
The patient was operated immediately by the neurosurgeons Dr MA Jaleel and Dr Sai Shiva. “At present, the patient is in intensive neurocritical care, and all necessary medical interventions are being undertaken. The next 48 hours are critical, and the patient’s condition remains serious,” Kamineni Hospital said.
