The 25-year-old Hyderabad gymnast, who earlier had created history by becoming the first Indian gymnast to win a medal in a World Cup with a bronze in 2018 in Melbourne, clinched the top honours in floor and the vault event.
Aruna had suffered an ACL tear in the right leg and underwent a surgery in November 2019, recovered recently and returned to the international competition recently. The gritty gymnast, despite the career-threatening injury, worked hard with coach Manoj Rana in New Delhi before recovering fully to return to competition.
