Hyderabad: Vaishnavi Vyas, a talented 13-year-old gymnast from Hyderabad and studying in the eighth standard at The Gaudium School, bagged a gold medal in the recent Sub Junior Nationals held in Prayagraj (UP).
Vaishnavi, coached by former World Cup medallist Aruna Reddy, won a gold medal in the vault and also a bronze in floor exercises in the sub-junior girls category.
Coach Aruna Reddy thanked The Gaudium School for its unwavering support of Vaishnavi in both academics and gymnastics.
“It has been one and a half years since I started coaching alongside my rehabilitation work, and I am very proud to see Vaishnavi achieve her first gold in vaulting and bronze in floor exercises — both of which are my favourite and specialist events,” said Aruna.
Aruna, an international gymnast herself, shared her confidence in Vaishnavi’s potential.
“Vaishnavi is only 13 and has a long journey ahead. As a coach, I can see a very bright future for her. With the guidance of my mentor and coach, Manoj Sir, who supports me both in my training and coaching, I will strive to take Vaishnavi to the world stage, winning many more medals for our state and country in the future,” Aruna said.
“This inspiring achievement marks a promising start for Vaishnavi and highlights the emerging gymnastics talent in Telangana,” she added.
