The houseowner who was checking the security cam app on his smartphone noticed the suspect breaking into his house, following which he alerted his neighbors, who in turn alerted the KPHB police. The cops managed to reach in time and caught the thief red-handed, all this within a couple of hours on Wednesday morning.
The residents had locked the house at LIG 237 in KPHB Road No.2 and gone to the US last December and were currently staying there. Before leaving, the houseowner had installed security surveillance cameras in his house and got them connected to his mobile phone with the help of an app.
According to the police, the incident occurred at 3.30 am on Wednesday, when the owner was checking the surveillance cameras. On noticing an unidentified person breaking into the house after opening the main door with tools, he alerted his neighbors and they informed the police.
Detective Sub-inspector Shyam Babu, who was on rounds in the area, immediately rushed to the house with his staff. “We reached there within a few minutes and along with the local residents quietly entered the house without making any sound. We had our service firearm with us, while the residents were carrying sticks for safety. We started checking rooms and found him after which we recovered the valuables he stole,” Shyam Babu said.
The burglar was identified as T.Ramakrishna alias Abhiram, a burglar who was earlier involved in similar cases. He was earlier lodged at the Sangareddy district prison and was released recently. Abhiram was arrested and produced before court, after which he was remanded in judicial custody.
