Hyderabad: After a part of the road caved in along the Attapur road near Musi, the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) on Sunday took up work on a retaining wall and restoring the road stretch.
Around 10 meters of the road had caved this week, according to HRDCL officials. As the mud was being removed to reduce load on the electricity tower of a high-tension power line, the base under the road weakened, following which the road caved. Following a joint inspection by officials of the electricity department and HRDCL, works have commenced.
“Within two weeks the road restoration works will be completed. The construction of the retaining wall has already started,” said an engineer form HRDCL.
Previous year too a portion of the same road caved in after water was released from Himayat Sagar. The road stretch running up to 0.75 meters connects Attapur bridge and Bapu Ghat bridge.
