Hyderabad: Hussain Sagar swells amid rains, water levels keep rising
Heavy rains have pushed Hussain Sagar’s water levels close to capacity, prompting GHMC officials to issue alerts for low-lying areas. The lake recorded inflows of 1,430 cusecs and outflows of 2,680 cusecs as IMD forecast more rainfall.
The GHMC Lake Division officials are closely monitoring the situation and have advised people to stay alert, especially in low-lying localities.
The Met department forecast more showers in the coming days, raising concerns about further swelling of the lake. Residents living near the lake observed that the water is steadily increasing, with some areas along the banks already experiencing minor inundation.
