Hyderabad: HYDRAA clears encroachments to reclaim land worth Rs. 200 cr near Peddamma Temple in Jubilee Hills

The HYDRAA exercise today reclaimed 2 acres of park land and nala land worth more than Rs.200 crore. Illegal structures built along the nala and the park road, were removed making way to the park which is about 2 acres in area.

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed as HYDRAA authorities took up demolition of illegal structures on Jubilee Hills Road No.41 near Peddamma Temple on Friday.

Following complaints from local residents that the open drain has been encroached and illegal structures were constructed, HYDRAA took up demolitions in the morning. Illegal structures were razed to the ground in an area covering more than 500 yards. Heavy police deployment was arranged at the spot.


According to officials, the HYDRAA exercise today reclaimed 2 acres of park land and nala land worth more than Rs.200 crore. Illegal structures built along the nala and the park road, were removed making way to the park which is about 2 acres in area.

A tenant who rented a house had occupied the land around the house intended for government and public purposes without the knowledge of the owner. The tenant was running hotels and hostels and collecting rent of Rs.10 lakhs per month.

HYDRAA said after notices were issued in the past and the tenant approached the court.

The court stated that the tenant had no right over those structures. The removal of structures that were encroaching on the nala and the road, was taken up with the court orders.
