Illegal structures were razed to the ground in an area covering more than 500 yards. Heavy police deployment was arranged at the spot.

According to officials, the HYDRAA exercise today reclaimed 2 acres of park land and nala land worth more than Rs.200 crore. Illegal structures built along the nala and the park road, were removed making way to the park which is about 2 acres in area.

A tenant who rented a house had occupied the land around the house intended for government and public purposes without the knowledge of the owner. The tenant was running hotels and hostels and collecting rent of Rs.10 lakhs per month.
