Hyderabad: A former home guard climbed floodlight tower at LB Stadium in Hyderabad demanding the State government to reinstate them in service.

Anjaneyulu claimed that he along with 250 other home guards were removed from service for participating in the Telangana agitation prior to the formation of the State. The government then took the step to suppress the movement.

Anjaneyulu said that during the recent Assembly elections, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy promised to reinstate the home guards into service. However, a year passed since Congress government came to power in the State, but the Chief Minister failed to keep his promise, he said.

Anjaneyulu said all the 250 former home guards have proper documents and proofs with them and had worked at different offices in the city. The police reached the spot. More details awaited.
