Hyderabad: A three member interstate attention diversion gang who conned people on pretext of polishing gold ornaments was caught by the Hyderabad Police on Tuesday. The police recovered 57 grams of gold from them.

Those who were apprehended are Mohammed Sattar Ali, Mohd Amir and Mohd Riyaz, residents of Jagityal district and natives of Bihar.

According to Additional DCP Task Force, the trio early this month visited Chatrinaka area of old city and met a woman assuring to polish gold ornaments at a cheaper price. After diverting the attention of the woman they decamped with a gold chain weighing four tolas.

A case was registered at Chatrinaka police station following the incident. The Commissioner’s Task Force (south) team caught the trio. They were also involved in similar cases in other places.
