Hyderabad: Moving away from the practice of travelling in an official SUV, the Rajendranagar DCP Yogesh Goutam on Sunday patrolled the ‘trouble-prone’ areas in Attapur on a motorcycle.
The IPS officer, Yogesh Goutam, preferred his Royal Enfield motorcycle to patrol the congested localities of Attapur, Chintalmet, Suleimannagar, Hassannagar and M M Pahadi. He was accompanied by the Attapur Inspector, K Nageshwar Rao and other police personnel who tailed the DCP on their bikes.
The DCP collected the feedback from the local residents about the policing initiatives and collected details about late-night nuisance and street corner gatherings. He visited a few crime hot spots where previously homicide cases were reported.
The DCP said that it is mandatory for the local police to check the houses of rowdy sheeters to gather intelligence on potential threats, deter criminal activity and ensure compliance with court orders or bail conditions.
He said that the proactive measures by police will help reduce crime rates, improve public safety and enhance community trust in law enforcement.
