Hyderabad: The ever-popular Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the leading ladies of Telugu cinema. A proud recipient of four Filmfare Awards and two Nandi Awards, she has stolen many hearts in the course of her journey in the tinsel town. From her debut in ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ to her latest release ‘Jaanu’, the actor has come a long way.  

Sam has turned her love for fashion into a business idea with Saaki, a fashion label, a year ago. In a recent question and answer session on Instagram, she divulged some interesting facts about her entrepreneurship life, rumours about shifting her base to Mumbai, and more.

Any challenges you faced in the initial phase of your entrepreneurship journey? 

Pandemic was the biggest challenge I faced. Also, I’m always used to working alone and now I work with a team. That was my initial fear. With all the issues we (team) faced, we feel like we had a big win this year, overcame so much, and received so much support and love that encourages us. I always knew I would give it 100 per cent just like with everything. Thankfully, I have a team too that gives cents.  

Can we expect a collaboration of Saaki with other clothing brands?   

Yes, why not. It’s a wonderful idea. I would love to collaborate with brand Nush or any other designers. It would be amazing.   

What is your happiest moment with Saaki?   

The happiest moment has to be the launch of Saaki. We did extremely well, more than any of us expected, and that was a great and most exciting day.   

Can we expect Saaki on more platforms?   

Yes, it is definitely part of our future plans and we will be adding a lot more styles and options for people to go crazy with.  

We heard you’re shifting to Mumbai. Is that true?  

I really don’t know where this rumour started. But, just like, hundred other rumours, not true. Hyderabad is my home and will always be my home. Hyderabad is giving me everything and I will continue to live here.  She also promised men’s wear on Saaki soon and revealed that giving high-quality clothes at affordable prices through her fashion label has been her only priority throughout.
