Hyderabad: Job seeker duped by cyber fraudsters
A 37-year-old Hyderabad man lost Rs 1.3 lakh to cyber fraudsters promising an online part-time job. After paying repeatedly for tasks, he realized the scam and reported it to Sanathnagar police
Hyderabad: A 37-year-old man from Hyderabad was cheated by cyber fraudsters to the tune of Rs 1.3 lakh with a promise of providing an online part-time job. The scammers obtained the victim’s personal details and promised to provide an online job with daily payments.
They told him that he needed to complete a free registration and was provided with a website. The victim logged into the website and started the work.
The victim made payments as required, and the scammers continued to provide commercial ads, prompting the victim to pay repeatedly.
Eventually, the victim realised he was being cheated and approached the Sanathnagar police, who booked a case and took up an investigation.
