Hyderabad: Lady doctor associated with noted private hospital caught with 53 grams of cocaine, arrested

Hyderabad: The Raidurgam police on Friday arrested Chigurupati Namrata, a doctor who is associated with a noted hospital in the city, along with one person for allegedly possessing and using drugs. The police seized 53 grams of cocaine, Rs. 10,000 in cash and two mobile phones.

According to Raidurgam Inspector Ch Venkanna, the doctor had placed an order for cocaine with a Mumbai-based man Vansh Dhakkar recently. On Friday, Vansh sent a parcel containing 53 grams of cocaine through an agent Balakrishna to deliver it to Namrata.

“On specific information, we caught Namrata when she was accepting the parcel from Balakrishna in Raiduram. A case under NDPS Act is registered against Namrata, Balakrishna and Vansh,” said Venkanna.

The police are further investigating.
