Hyderabad: A late-night fire triggered by a series of blasts at Gomati Electronics in Shahalibanda left the shop owner critically injured and an unidentified man dead on Monday midnight.
According to Moghalpura Police, shop owner Shivakumar Bansal (49) was at the showroom around 11 pm on Monday when he heard three sudden blast sounds. Within moments, flames engulfed the premises, leaving him with severe burn injuries.
He collapsed inside the showroom and was later shifted to Apollo Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the burns ward.
During the incident, an unknown male aged around 50 years, standing near the shop, also sustained serious burns. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The investigation into the cause of the blasts is underway.
The Moghalpura Police have appealed to the public to help identify the dead person.
