Abbas Union FC records 3-1 win against Hyderabad Globe FC
Hyderabad: Abbas Union FC recorded a 3-1 win against Hyderabad Globe FC in the TFA A-Division Rahim League football championship at Sreenidhi Deccan Arena here on Saturday.
Ansil scored a brace in the fourth and 31st minutes, and Imran netted the third goal in the 73rd minute for the winners, while Ganapathi Prasad reduced the margin in the 35th minute for the losers.
In another match, South Central Railway defeated Central Excise 4-2 with Shelton Paul scoring two goals in the 54th and 60th minutes, Vijay netting one in the 64th minute, and Nishad completing the tally in the 98th minute.
Fateh Hyderabad FC and Hyderabad Sporting FC were locked in a goalless draw.
Six State footballers shortlisted for AIFF-FIFA selection trials
Telangana Football Association secretary G Palguna informed on Saturday that six players from the State have been short-listed to attend the selection trials at the AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy in Bhubaneshwar (Odisha). The trials will be held from June 2 to 7, and the following players will attend: Mirza Ammar Ali Baig, Mohammed Yasser, Tadaka Dhairya, Adarsh
Sai, Md Mujtaba and Hrishikesh Charan Manavathi.
Athletics selections
Hyderabad District Athletics Association will organise District sub-junior athletic selections on May 28 at Gymkhana Ground from 6 am in the age groups of eight, 10, and 12 years in different events.
