Hyderabad: An engineering graduate who attacked a 21-year-old woman with a blade by slashing her throat at SR Nagar has been arrested.
Madhusudhan Reddy, (22), a resident Ameerpet and a native of Chodavaram village in Srikalahasthi of Andhra Pradesh, was into friendship with the victim. The duo had studied in the same engineering college at Nellore in AP and after graduating came to Hyderabad and got enrolled at an IT training institute at Ameerpet. Both of then eventually became friends.
Over a period of time, the woman started avoiding Madhusudhan, on coming to know that he regularly consumed alcohol and had other bad habits.
On pretext of sorting out the issue, Madhusudhan called the woman to SR Nagar road. “When the victim came, Madhusudhan picked up a quarrel with her and attacked the woman with a blade that he was carrying with him. The locals and patrol vehicle constables over-powdered him and handed over to the police,” said S R Nagar Inspector, Srinath Reddy.
The police shifted the woman to a local hospital where she was administered first aid and handed over to her relatives. Madhusudhan was arrested and remanded.
