Hyderabad: Man arrested for armed robbery in a bar
The Raidurgam police arrested a man who allegedly robbed a bar, about a week ago. The police recovered Rs. 1.50 lakh in cash, a phone and a toy pistol from him.
Hyderabad: The Raidurgam police arrested a man who allegedly took away cash from a bar after threatening the guard by brandishing a weapon, about a week ago. The police recovered Rs. 1.50 lakh in cash, a phone and a toy pistol from him.
According to Ch. Venkanna, Inspector Raidurgam police station, the man Shubbam Kumar Kena (26), a resident of Yousufguda, and native of Odisha along with his friend Biswajit Panda (25), also from Odisha were jobless for quite some time and desperately needed money.
Shubbam, had worked at the Tevar Bar and Restaurant at Raidurgam and his services were terminated by the employer three months ago. He took help of Biswajit and waited for an opportune moment to commit robbery at Tevar Bar.
“On December 9, Shubbam and Biswajit, went to the bar and threatened the security guard with a pistol. Frightened on seeing the weapon, the security guard opened the office from where both the suspects collected Rs. 4.5 lakh in cash and escaped. Shubbam had purchased a toy pistol in the market and used it to threaten the security guard,” said the Inspector.
On a complaint, the Raidurgam police registered a case and arrested Shubbam while his friend is absconding.
