Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man who was injured in an attack by his son’s friend at Bandlaguda in Nagole on Monday, died under treatment late on Friday. A financial issue led to the incident, police said.
The victim, B Anandappa’s son B Chandrashekhar alias Chandu was in urgent need of money had sought help from his friend T Ravi (25), a resident of Dilsukhnagar. Ravi introduced him to one Naveen alias Tillu, who loaned him Rs 10,000.
According to the police, Chandu repaid Rs 6,000 and could not pay the rest due to financial constraints. Ravi started pressurising him to repay the remaining amount following which there were frequent fights between them.
Late on Monday night, Ravi in an inebriated condition went to Chandu’s house and demanded the money. “A heated argument took place between them. Ravi grabbed a boulder and tried to attack Chandu, but Anandappa intervened and was hit on the head and died under treatment,” police said.
The LB Nagar police are investigating.
