Film Nagar police booked a 40-year-old man for allegedly cheating and blackmailing a 32-year-old woman by promising marriage, taking private photos, and later threatening to circulate them on social media while demanding money to delete the content
Hyderabad: The Filmnagar police booked a man for allegedly cheating and blackmailing a 32-year-old woman after promising to marry her.
The suspect Ramu (40) had developed a relationship with the woman and allegedly gained her trust by assuring marriage. During their association, he reportedly took private photographs of her.
“When the woman recently raised the issue of marriage, the accused allegedly refused and threatened to share the photographs on social media,” police said.
Police said he further demanded money from the victim, claiming he would delete the photos if she paid him.
Following the threats and harassment, the woman approached the police, who registered a case and took up investigation.
