Hyderabad: Man booked under POCSO Act for assaulting minor girl in Alwal

A 24-year-old man was booked under the POCSO Act in Hyderabad’s Alwal after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl multiple times. Police said the accused was living with the victim’s mother, and the case surfaced after suspicion raised by the girl’s uncle.

Hyderabad: A young man was booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl in Alwal.

According to police, a woman from the Macha Bolarum area became acquainted with the suspect Durga Prasad (24) at a Spoken English center. This acquaintance gradually evolved into an extramarital affair, and the two reportedly had been living together for the past five years.

It is alleged that, during this period, whenever the woman was away from home, Durga Prasad lured her 15-year- daughter with deceptive words and subjected her to sexual assault on multiple occasions.

The matter came to light recently when the victim’s maternal uncle grew suspicious and confronted the individuals involved.
Based on a complaint, the Alwal police booked a POCSO Act case against Durga Prasad and investigation is on. The suspect was yet to be arrested.
