Hyderabad: Man caught for smuggling liquor in train

Shiva Kumar from Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh concealed the liquor bottles in luggage and arrived at the Hyderabad railway station in Hisar Express from Haryana, TG Excise Act

Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP) along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) caught a man allegedly smuggling liquor from Haryana into Hyderabad at the Hyderabad railway station on Thursday. Officials seized 28 liquor bottles, altogether worth Rs 13,000 from him.

Shiva Kumar from Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh concealed the liquor bottles in luggage and arrived at the Hyderabad railway station in Hisar Express from Haryana. On enquiry, he could not produce any valid authority or license for the possession of the liquor.

He was taken into custody and a case under TG Excise Act was booked.
