Hyderabad: A man from the city was cheated to the tune of Rs.25 lakh in the guise of bitcoin investments for high returns.

The victim, who is a resident of Sanathnagar and a private employee, was approached by the suspects Mallikarjun and Manikanta, who promised high returns for investments for his investments in their company using crypto currency.

Police sources said expecting good returns, the victim invested nearly Rs.25 lakh in the form of crypto currency, in installments. Even after the stipulated time, on not receiving any returns, he approached the police.

Based on the victim’s complaint, the Sanathnagar police have booked a case and started investigation.
