Hyderabad: Man dies by suicide at Ghatkesar railway station; financial stress suspected

A man from Ghatkesar died by suicide at the local railway station on Tuesday night. Police say financial stress and job loss may have contributed. He is survived by his wife and two children, and the GRP has begun an investigation

Hyderabad: A man died by suicide by allegedly falling under a speeding train at Ghatkesar railway station on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 11.30 pm, when the victim, Paredula Bikshapati, a resident of Ghatkesar and a driver by profession, allegedly placed his head on the railway track before the arrival of an unidentified train.

According to family members, Bikshapati had been jobless for some time and had developed drinking habits due to financial stress. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Police said preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was upset over ongoing financial issues and may have taken the extreme step out of frustration.

The Government Railway Police are investigating.
