Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a 29-year-old man died by suicide in Uppal allegedly after facing severe financial losses in online trading, police said on Monday.

The victim was identified as Kasoju Ravichandra, a native of Marutinagar in Achampet, Nagarkurnool district, who had been living in South Swaroopnagar, Uppal.

Ravichandra had been involved in online long-term trading for nearly five years.

According to the police, mounting losses in the business pushed him into deep mental distress. In a tragic turn of events, he reportedly procured a chemical substance through an online platform and consumed it at his residence on Sunday.

He was found unconscious and was shifted to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared as dead by the doctors.

Based on the complaint, the Uppal police registered a case and have taken up an investigation. The body was shifted for an autopsy.

Police said further inquiry is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
