Hyderabad: A 21 year-old man drowned in Jalpally tank on city outskirts on Saturday evening.
According to the police, Mohd Naveed (21), a resident of Aghapura came to the tank along with two friends Siraj and Rasheed on Saturday afternoon.
“In the evening, Naveed got into the tank to swim. The friends of the victim told us that Naveen did not know how to swim and was drowned before help could reach him,” said Pahadishareef police.
On information, the police reached the spot and with the help of expert swimmers fished out the body on Sunday afternoon. The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
A case is booked by the police and investigation going on.
